Boron steel grade 30MNB5 is needed for the manufacture of various structural elements, parts, assemblies, which have special requirements for hardness, strength, toughness and resistance to loads of all types.
Many people believe that high-quality steels can only be obtained using alloying additives based on manganese, chromium, nickel or molybdenum. At the same time, the cost of such materials is in many cases quite high precisely due to the introduction of such impurities.
Treatment of steel with boron using a special technology allows to reduce the level of alloying without loss of quality performance characteristics and parameters. The required level of hardenability is maintained, strength and hardness remain at the same level.
Boron minimizes the likelihood of cracks during heat treatment and subsequent hardening of steels. This property is very important, because the problem of many steels containing manganese alloying lies precisely in uneven hardening. In addition, the use of boron steel allows you to save a lot on production: you will get up to 10% savings.
Features and Applications
30MnB5 boron-containing steel is characterized by good ductility, which makes it possible to manufacture parts and elements of rather complex shapes from it. The steel welds perfectly and bends without cracking. Conforms to the European standard EN 10083-3.
It is produced in the form of pipes and rolled sheets, it is used in the agro-industrial sector for the production of elements of agricultural machines, in construction, in industrial production. Steel is used to make plows, tractor tracks, linings, chains, knives, propeller blades and other products.
