42CrMo4 alloy structural steel
High-strength alloy structural steel, grade 42CrMo4 refers to chromium-molybdenum alloys. It is made from unalloyed steels, by hardening, for further hardening and tempering, as well as induction hardening. Conforms to the European standard EN10083.
Material supplied as:
– Hot formed semi-finished products.
– Prutkov.
– Bars.
– Hot rolled sheets and strips.
– Forgings.
Special Properties
European steel grade EN10083 stands out for its convincing strength, sufficiently high yield strength and significant impact strength. Fully retains its mechanical properties at an operating temperature of 450-500 degrees.
The material has limited weldability. Can be used manual arc or automatic arc welding, performed under flux and in a protective gaseous environment.
Applications
steam turbine rotors, parts of various machines.
