Copper-nickel alloy Melchior MN19 is resistant to chemical destruction and oxidation, which makes it possible to use it as a structural material capable of operating in aggressive environments.

Special Properties
Nickel is the base material. In small quantities, when cupronickel is used in the manufacture of coins, iron and manganese may be present. But their total share cannot exceed 1.3%.

The rather high price for cupronickel is fully justified by its unique properties. It stands out for its visual appeal, sufficiently high strength due to the presence of nickel in its composition, resistance to corrosion manifestations, including in sea water, good weldability, availability of polishing and soldering. The plasticity of the alloy makes it possible to carry out its processing by pressure, both in a cold and in a hot state.

Applications
Melchior can be bought for plating medical instruments, manufacturing elements of precision mechanisms and vacuum devices, ship parts, pipeline fittings and other products that require high corrosion resistance and attractive appearance.
