Sheet Steel S460NL DIN EN 10025-3
Sheet steel of grade S460NL is a hot-rolled, fine-grained, non-alloy structural steel of ordinary quality, which undergoes normalization rolling at a heating temperature of up to 900°C.
Special Properties
Sheet steel DIN EN 10025-3 has chemical homogeneity, a uniform structure, resistance to corrosion and significant temperature changes, as well as high flexibility and strength, which largely determine its areas of application.
High-quality sheet steel of grade S460NL is distinguished by:
- A fairly high yield strength of 460 megapascals under normal ambient temperature conditions;
- Excellent impact toughness indicators: 63 J at a test temperature of +20°C and 27 J at -50°C;
- A density of 7.85 g/cm³;
- Good weldability. Welding work does not require preheating or subsequent heat treatment.
Areas of Application
Sheet steel of this grade is successfully used in Ukraine in construction, mechanical engineering, machine tool manufacturing, energy, and for the production of individual products and welded structures, including bridge elements, locks, various tanks, etc.
