Alloy 50N
Types of steel, which include iron-nickel alloy 50N, is included in the group of precision magnetically soft permalloys. Distinctive features are a high level of heat resistance, considerable magnetic permeability and increased induction of technical saturation.
Alloy composition
Steel marking indicates that the main components of steel are iron and nickel, which can account for up to 50.5%.
The electromagnetic properties of the material are increased by alloying. Using copper, manganese, chromium, silicon, molybdenum.
Steel 50N is smelted in vacuum or neutral gases.
Tape and sheets are stamped cold-rolled, after which annealing is performed to increase the magnetic properties of the alloy.
Applications
The Steel Handbook notes significant magnetoresistive properties grade 50N, which allows it to be used in the production of transformer plates, recording heads, and magnetic field sensors. In addition, elements of devices are made from this steel, which must maintain their dimensions with significant temperature changes.
Particularly sensitive instrumentation uses the ability of the alloy to change the level of electrical resistance, depending on magnitude and vector of the magnetic field.
