Alloy 29NK

Steel 29NK is a precision alloy with a regulated TCLE.

Stainless steel contains up to 53% iron, up to 17% cobalt and 29% nickel. The properties of the alloy are also determined by manganese, silicon, aluminum, copper, chromium, carbon, sulfur and phosphorus, which are contained in steel in much smaller volumes.

Special properties

Alloy 29NK belongs to the group of ferromagnets, having a Curie temperature of 420 degrees, and its expansion coefficient is similar to glass, with an index from -70 to +420 degrees.

Kovar is plastic. It can be easily drawn, rolled and stamped, as well as welded. The alloy can be soldered using lead-tin solder, has adhesion to molten glass.

The main forms of steel supply are:

Applications

The low price of 29NK steel grades and their properties contribute to the widespread use in the manufacture of optical devices, for operation in a wide temperature range, elements of semiconductor equipment, soldering elements of electrical components with glass, components of luminescent lighting devices.
