HARDFIELD 400, 500 wear steel
Special wear-resistant steel grade HARDFIELD 400 and 500, suitable for the production of elements subjected to severe abrasion during operation. The use of this material reduces slip and impact wear, significantly extending the life of the equipment and thus reducing the cost of its maintenance.
The digital grade index corresponds to the steel hardness level, in units of Brinell scale.
The unique characteristics that wear-resistant metals possess are also determined by their chemical composition, including carbon, with a share of up to 0.38%, as well as silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel and molybdenum.
Special Properties
HARDFIELD 400 and 500 are shipped hardened and tempered. They have high hardness, strength and impact strength.
Cutting metal involves preheating. Welding requires preheating only for sheets with a thickness of more than 20 millimeters.
Applications
Metal HARDFIELD 400 and 500 steel is widely used in the production of machine and equipment components subject to stresses leading to rapid wear. These can be dump truck bodies, excavator buckets, crushers, cutting tools, demolition equipment, and so on.
