Steel round bar grade 1.7238 (European equivalent 50CrMo4, Russian equivalent 50KhM) is a structural alloyed chromium-molybdenum steel designed for manufacturing highly loaded machine-building components. This grade belongs to the heat-treatable steels and provides high strength combined with good toughness after heat treatment.

To achieve optimal mechanical properties, it is recommended to perform heat treatment in the form of quenching followed by high tempering (improvement). During machining, modern cutting tools and coolant should be used to ensure the required surface quality.
