  • Characteristics

Steel EN 1.4923

EN 1.4923 is a high-strength heat-resistant martensitic stainless steel. The alloy is primarily composed of iron and is alloyed with chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. Thanks to its chemical composition, the steel offers excellent mechanical strength, outstanding heat resistance, and reliable performance under prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.

Key Features

EN 1.4923 steel is characterized by:

  • High mechanical strength
  • Excellent resistance to yield deformation and creep
  • Heat resistance at temperatures up to 650°C
  • High corrosion resistance in aggressive environments
  • Excellent resistance to hot steam

The alloy’s chemical composition ensures reliable performance even in harsh operating conditions, including high humidity and exposure to aggressive industrial gases.

Applications

EN 1.4923 is widely used for the manufacture of:

  • Chimneys and furnace flues
  • Ventilation and air conditioning systems
  • Power generation equipment
  • Turbine components
  • Mechanical assemblies operating at elevated temperatures and high humidity
  • Industrial equipment for the power, chemical, and petrochemical industries

Its combination of heat resistance, creep resistance, and corrosion resistance makes this steel particularly suitable for demanding industrial applications.
