Stainless steel 1.4505 / AISI 441
Steel grade 1.4505 / AISI 441 belongs to the group of ferritic stainless steels stabilized with niobium and titanium. A significant content of chromium provides resistance to crevice corrosion and allows this stainless steel to be bought as an analogue of standard austenitic grades.
Special characteristics
The main properties of steel include:
– resistance to intergranular and crevice corrosion;
– resistance to oxidation, at temperatures up to 950 degrees;
– low coefficient of thermal expansion;
– high thermal conductivity.
Stainless steel sheet, grade 1.4505 / AISI 441, can be cold worked, including bending, deep drawing and so on . The steel has a high tensile strength, which, given its low hardening value, makes it very suitable for deep drawing.
Steel can be welded using conventional methods and filler materials.
Fields of application
Affordable price for this stainless steel contributes to its widest application. Grade 1.4505 / AISI 441 is successfully used in the production of heat exchangers, various elements of automobiles, elevator sheathing, sanitary ware, washing machines, decorative elements for interior decoration and so on.
