Steel sheet S 355 J2+N DIN EN 10025-2
Sheet metal, grade S 355 J2+N, manufactured in accordance with European standard 10025 -2, is an unalloyed low carbon structural steel supplied after normalizing rolling (+N). It differs from steel grades S235 and S275 in improved characteristics, which allow the manufacture of basic and critical structural elements.
Main properties
Steel sheet, grade S 355 J2+N stands out for:
– high yield strength, with an index of 355 megapascals, at ambient temperature;
– resistance to destruction, under impact, with a force of up to 27 joules, at a temperature of -20 degrees;
– density of 7.85 grams per cubic centimeter;
– good weldability, as with heating, and without heating.
Applications
Metal sheet S 355 J2+N has an optimal set of mechanical properties that facilitate its use for the manufacture of various structures and products for construction and engineering. Steel of this grade is widely used in the production of heavy machinery and agricultural machinery, elements of offshore platforms and building structures, power transmission line supports, and so on.
