General Characteristics
Steel 1.5529 (27MnB5) is a boron-alloyed structural steel with high strength, wear resistance, and excellent hardenability. It is used in the production of components subjected to high mechanical loads and wear.

The main elements in the composition of 1.5529 steel:
- Carbon (C): 0.24 – 0.30
- Manganese (Mn): 1.10 – 1.40
- Silicon (Si): 0.15 – 0.35
- Boron (B): 0.0008 – 0.0050
- Chromium (Cr): 0.15 – 0.35
- Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.025
- Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.010
Mechanical Properties
- Hardness after heat treatment: 55-62 HRC
- Tensile strength: up to 1500 MPa
- Yield strength: up to 1200 MPa
