Hastelloy C2000 / Alloy 2000 / 2.4675
reaches 58%. To a lesser extent, the content of chromium, cobalt, molybdenum and copper is noticeable.
Distinctive properties of the alloy
An open arc furnace is used to melt Hastelloy C2000 steel. bake. Hardening is carried out by heat treatment.
The marking of the alloy indicates a significant resistance of the material to crevice, intergranular and pitting corrosion, as well as stress corrosion cracking. It stands out for its resistance to hydrochloric, sulfuric, acetic and phosphoric acids, chlorides.
Heat treatment is possible by hardening, annealing, normalizing and surface hardening. Cold working can be used for milling, drawing, grinding, drilling and turning.
Applications
Low carbon content contributes to minimal carbide precipitation when performing welding, which makes the alloy very popular in the production of chemical reactors and nuclear boilers.
In addition, the C2000 alloy is used in the manufacture of elements for firing and drying thermal furnaces, pipes, and fittings for them operating in aggressive environments.
